The research shows that in the first quarter of 2022, a total of $2.5 billion have been invested by several gaming companies in the blockchain gaming sector. The data shows that in just a month of February 2022, the total investments made in the blockchain gaming sector were worth $720 million.
As for the year 2021, $4 billion were raised in the form of venture capital funds by the venture capitalists. These funds were raised with the aim of being used for the advancement and the development of the blockchain gaming sector.
In the blockchain gaming sector, companies with the top investments include Animoca Brands, Sequoia Capital, Yuga Labs, Coinbase, FTX, and The Sandbox.
One of the biggest names in the blockchain gaming sector is Animoca Brands which has increased its valuation at a tremendous rate after adopting the blockchain gaming technology. From the year 2021 to 2022, Animoca Brands has increased its valuation to $5 billion and has raised $360 million in the year 2022.
The companies following Animoca Brands are Sequoia Capital, which has reportedly invested almost $450 million into the Polygon blockchain for the development of games.
Then comes Yuga Labs which has also invested over $450 million in blockchain gaming technology. On top of that, companies such as Coinbase, FTX, and The Sandbox have invested over $450 million in the development of metaverse (P2E) games in the blockchain sector.
